Have you been good boys and girls in Judd Street this year?

If you have, Santa will be able to give you a special Christmas present. A clear desk. In my sack I have all you need to put this horrid development business behind you and start 2008 with happy smiling faces. I hope you have been good, because if you haven't, you will be neglecting your duty of care to residents and other users because

a) the proposals are clearly dangerous

b) you have to power to stop it. Right now.

My proof? Well, aside from the fact that of course I exist

a) your own document from 2002 establishes that the narrow width of LGS makes it not suitable for moving traffic, not even my sleigh (and the road hasn't got any wider, has it? Hoho).

b) the nasty developers' CMS which spells out that you have ruled out access through land you own (the Ingestre Estate) for very good safety reasons

c) All of the detailed analysis by the highly respected Michael Coombs refuting the developer's maths and assurances

d) Several letters from resident's solicitors warning you of all of this in legal detail (the cost of which means that some little children won't be getting a Wii this year)

e) the boundary and access dispute (they don't own it - you do) which, all else aside, gives you the power to say 'No' quickly and cleanly any time you like.

But if you haven't been good and have been telling Santa not quite the truth (which explains why you haven't been returning any of my elves' calls or emails lately) - you wouldn't, for example, be showing these houses already built on an unpublished UDP map, would you, then Santa will be very disappointed and will continue his high visibility campaign to restore the Christmas spirit, peace on earth and goodwill to all men (even rapacious developers) throughout 2008 and beyond... Yo Ho Ho!
