It is now.* There's been a recent flurry of wannabe developers racing up to the site recently, but with the arse falling out of the house building market (even for gated McMansions) it would be a brave (and/or stupid) purchase. Perhaps they're just thinking of buying the sub-prime real estate, imagining that they can succeed where the current owners have failed. Good development is all about scale, proportion, context and harmony. That would be a start.
*according to my maths, conditional planning permission lapsed at midnight yesterday. We're waiting on official confirmation. and then there's the business of the Inspector, who may have already been for all we know.
